About

If we're lucky, we're all pushing up against our growth edges daily. Whether our success relies on physical, mental or spiritual focus, I believe a solid mind-body connection is the key to showing up for ourselves and showing up for each other in beneficial ways.

As a teacher & guide, I am able to help others use yoga as a companion to internal shifts because it has supported my growth through a wide range of life changes including:

  • physical recovery from a professional wrestling career

  • mental cultivating the self-discipline to eliminate alcohol and cigarettes from my life

  • emotional healing from the PTSD of three natural disasters

  • spiritual strengthening connections to my creativity as a writer & musician

I have a passion for showing others how to use yoga as a physical and spiritual practice, as well as a companion to personal growth and healing.

I received my 200-hr yoga teacher training in 2006 in-residence at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, MA. Upon leaving, I moved on to spend time serving in a Vedic monastery to explore deeper knowledge of yogic philosophy, ritual and Sanskrit. Since then, I've led classes, workshops and retreats throughout Colorado, California and Washington. Living in these places has allowed me to take classes with some of my favorite and well respected teachers like Richard Freeman, Bo Forbes & Seane Corn who have helped me learn to alchemize life experience into valuable teachings and creative classes. To support yogic inquiry, I have studied with the Foundation for Shamanic Studies, am a certified Level 2 Reiki Practitioner and have studied meditation and energy through the lens of academia in Psychobiology & Astrophysics.

Along the path, I have written about the many twists and turns that yoga has helped me rise to the challenge of growing into and beyond. My writing can be found on Elephant Journal, Medium.com and I have contributed to the print edition of Yoga Living Journal. As a teacher, I hope to incorporate my knowledge and experience to help you take the next step in doing what is right for YOU to get to the next level of your practice, whether you’re just toying with the idea of yoga or looking to intensify an existing practice.
